Nessus is the asteroid of abuse, manipulation, negative cycles and patterns of behavior. This is the area of your chart where you use themes to your advantage, where your malicious and manipulative tendencies are.

Here is how Nessus manifests through the houses. Keep in mind that not everyone experiences abuse, and the severity of the influence of Nessus can be mild or severe depending how it is aspected. For some people, Nessus might not be an important part of your chart until triggered by a transit. So only apply what resonates, these explanations don't necessarily mean that this is what you will experience or have experienced.

first house

Nessus in the first house can often manifest as someone who is insecure or is hard on themselves. Typically this is a person who doesn't take criticism very well, or at least takes most things to heart. If in aspect to Mars, Saturn, or Pluto, this could stem from the relationship with the father. In the case of Mars, this could also indicate someone who is harmful to themself. If in aspect to the Moon, Venus, or Jupiter, this can stem from the relationship with the mother, or overlap into issues with women in general, either you lash out at them seemingly unprovoked or vice versa, this could be how women, or one woman specifically has affected you or stuck with you. Nessus in the first house can also manifest as someone who is considered powerful, even with a sensitive ego. It isn't uncommon to have a malefically aspected Nessus and be considered a "narcissist"

second house

Nessus in the 2nd house will usually present itself as some type of moral corruption, harsh relationship with money, or out of the ordinary way of making money. If negatively aspected, this can manifest as a person who is willing to lie, cheat, or steal to obtain money, or have money play a role in manipulation-- either the native manipulates others with money or uses manipulation to get money. When a negatively aspected Nessus manifests as moral corruption, this can mean a variety of things, such as someone who lacks empathy/sympathy, someone who is willing to do bad things to get to where they want to be, willing to walk over other people, and in some more severe cases with Mars or Pluto-- this can manifest as someone who completely lacks a moral compass, someone who commit crimes, dirty deals, violence, and willingly put others lives at risk. On the lighter side, if Nessus is unaspected, or positively aspected to Venus or the Moon, this placement can manifest as someone who was born into money, comes into the family business, or basically makes money effortlessly for being "beautiful" etc.

third house

Nessus here causes the native to be a smooth talker, who is highly manipulative with their words, a good story teller. These people can make others feel stupid and use that to their advantage. If you make people feel inferior to you, you can hold some level of control over them. However, this gets highly malicious in some cases with negative aspects, because the third house is also the way that you think, thought patterns. These people can read others very well, and sense their thoughts and emotions and can play on that to get in their head. They can plant ideas or convince you that you want something or to do something. They like to play mental tricks on people. An example of a behavior like this would be to move someone's stuff around in a very specific way every so often, just to mess with them. These people like using songs and movies to lure people into certain thoughts and ideas, they would make good directors and story tellers.

fourth house

Nessus in the 4th house will likely manifest as abuse in the childhood home. Both from the parents and to the parents, in a torturous cycle. These people were likely difficult to deal with as children and it becomes a Chicken Or The Egg situation, was it the abusive parents that caused the reactive child, or the reactive child that caused the abusive parents?
For Nessus to show up here though, it usually has to be pretty severe and damaging in the long term, implying repetitive abuse. Power is the nature of Nessus, and it usually means that someone in the home was overbearing, either strict or highly manipulative. The child often felt unable to defend itself because the layers of psychological manipulation being perpetuated was too complex for a child to explain to anyone that could help them. In some cases, this can lead to generational and repetitive abuse. Perhaps their fathers father, and his father were also physically abusive. The closer to the Imum Coeli, the more deeply seeded into the bloodline this behavior is.
This is not a curse. Most natives are actually in turn better able to identify abuse and couldn't repeat it because they understand what it's like to be the victim.

fifth house

These are the people in the friend group who convince you to do something embarrassing so everyone can make fun of you. These are the people that always want one more beer or to go to one more bar. They encourage people to push their limits, to do things that they don't want to do, under the guise that everyone is just "having a good time". In extreme cases, this is the person who drugs your drink, or takes the drunk girl home, or the girl that pulls a $20 out of your wallet when you're sleeping. They weaponize fun and tend to be serial daters, guilt trip their friends and family into going out of their comfort zone, for malicious intent, rather than just to include everyone or try new things. These are the people that record you in your most vulnerable moments, who find joy and thrill in tricking people, who pull over the top pranks that will upset someone rather than make them laugh.
As children, these natives were aware of their place in the world, and would use their innocence or other tactics to get the things that they want. And as adults, people with this placements are definitely not someone that you want to be in a custody battle with.

sixth house

This is a tricky house for Nessus. These people are controlling over things that are weaker than them, like animals, frail co workers, associates, and bosses. They can manipulate institutions like banks, pharmacies, retail, etc -- by meticulous avenues, because the 6th house is ruled by Mercury and Virgo, making it a very detail oriented house. Nessus here pays attention to every aspect, can find any loop hole, manipulate any policy, to find a way to get what they want. They lie about their symptoms at doctors offices, and in turn they also think doctors are always lying to them. They feel that these people and institutions are always out to get them personally and everyone else, and makes it sort of a subconscious goal to "get them back" in a way.
Sometimes astrology manifests in very literal ways as well of course, and this placement can manifest as something as simple as someone who buys a puppy/dog just to get girls and doesn't really take care of it. Or uses it as a prop or to garner attention rather than commit themselves to it.

seventh house

Nessus in the 7th house has to do with your immediate relationships and people that you're close to. This can manifest as someone who is attracted to abusive or unhealthy relationships. Of course, there are underlying issues for why a person would consciously or subconsciously seek out unhealthy relationships, Nessus here can be a clue. These people experience frequent themes of control and obsession in their relationships, in some cases these people will form trauma bonds and end up in a relationship that can last a decade but be extremely detrimental the entire time. It becomes almost the baseline to them. When they do experience happy and healthy relationships, they think it is boring or that something is wrong, and will subconsciously sabotage the relationships looking for things to obsess over or start a fight about.
To counter act this energy, you must first become aware of your own behaviors and role in these patterns. Learn to notice them before they happen so they are no longer subconscious. Then work to prevent repetitive bad habits and cycles of abuse. Stay away from people who want to dominate or control you. If someone triggers feelings of obsession in you, it is not healthy, and you should learn to be content with calmness. There is no placement that we can't overcome, but rather that is the point, to have certain themes in our lives so that we can learn these lessons and live our most fulfilling life.

eighth house

Nessus in the 8th house can represents both sides of sexual abuse, both being the victim or the perpetrator. As well as adding dominance and control themes to the natives sex life. Various fetishes that involve BDSM and power dynamics are common, as well as rape fantasies. In extreme cases, Nessus here can manifest very violently, can manifest as someone who uses money, drugs and sex as manipulation tactics. These people take advantage of others for their money and resources. Highly negative placement to have on both sides of the spectrum.

ninth house

Nessus in the 9th house usually manifests as someone who has strong belief systems, whether on their own or instilled in to them in some way. Since the 9th house is religion, law, cultural matters -- these people can be victims of cults, leaders of cults, victims of religious psychosis or experience some form of psychosis in their life time. When the natives become police officers or hold positions of authority, they use this to their advantage maliciously.
These people believe that knowledge is power, and as smart as they can be, they are also just as vulnerable to false gurus. An aspect to Pluto is considered dangerous.

tenth house

Nessus in the 10th house is someone who uses their reputation as a tool of power and control. These are the types of people who pay off witnesses, settle out of court, use bribery and blackmail. These people use public humiliation to their advantage. They are the type to start an anonymous rumor, go to great lengths to get secret information on a person and then release it into the public. In some cases they could have a career where manipulation is huge part of the job, or a position of authority.
Vice versa, the native could often fall victim or be forever in-debted to this type of manipulation or blackmail.

eleventh house

Nessus here will involve your peers, friend groups, hope and dreams. Typically, you may experience deep manipulation within your acquaintances, colleagues, and institutions. You could work for places/bosses that work you like a dog, use humiliation tactics, or make you feel replaceable. The nature of Nessus is deeply malicious, the behavior of these people can trap you in a cycle of acting out of despiration. You feel the need to prove yourself to people or to fit in.
In extremely maleficly aspected charts, these people can become victims of cults, bullying rings, gangstalking [group effort stalking], co-workers that work as a team to take you down, and so on.
It is important to remember that as all placements do, there is a give and receive. It could just as well be the Native who is malicious, manipulative, and the leader of these types of organized guerilla sabotage and group-think.

twelfth house

Nessus here is a person who is either repetitively a victim or victimizes themselves. A victim of their own mind. These people are extremely critical of themselves, and therefore other people. It becomes a constant battle to overcome their own thoughts. Once they do finally achieve self control, of their emotions, their negative thinking patterns, they are wise and understanding. This can become a powerful placement if the native does not become trapped in perpetual victimhood. Constantly feeling sorry for themselves, or frequent feelings of inadequacy will lead to a loop of unfulfillment and lack of identity. These people must learn to trust themselves, to trust their own judgement -- to always make good decisions and not put themselves in questionable positions that might result in being at someone's mercy.
